Eric Sandy lives near the river in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and writes about drugs, birds, music, civil rights and the strange cultural radiation of the 21st century. His work has appeared in Cleveland Scene, Grid, Men’s Journal, RL Magazine, The Cleveland Review of Books, Earth Island Journal and more. He was a finalist for the 2021 Livingston Award. That same year, he won a first-place award for longform news writing from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia. In 2022, Microcosm Publishing released his book, Speak In Tongues: An Oral History of Cleveland’s Legendary DIY Punk Venue.
Presently, he is the digital editor of Cannabis Business Times, covering the emergent industry and attendant regulatory quirks.
Formerly, he was a staff writer and managing editor at Cleveland Scene.
